because effectively no-one
I assumed that in the months since the announcement of Google App Engine
[http://code.google.com/appengine/], that its glaring HTTP client deficiencies
would have been resolved. Nope.

I love the "do no Evil" mission statement that Google uses. It's one of those
statements that's obviously too good to be true, particularly for a publicly
traded company, yet they maintain it;
